Environmental Justice Intern

Destiny Okonkwo serves as an Environmental Intern for Volt Energy Utility, overseeing the financial operations of contractors and vendors across the country, with a specific focus on environmental justice and clean energy projects within Volt Energy Utility and Volt’s nonprofit organization Sharing the Power. Destiny is a graduate of Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs. She is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy.

Destiny was involved in many different organizations on her campus. She served as the Comptroller of the Texas Southern University Student Government Association, President of the TSU Environmental Conservation Organization, a Member of TSU Collegiate 100 organization, and a member of the University Criminal Justice Association.  She plans to become an environmental attorney and later own a nonprofit organization to help people without housing.
